A steel front panel for your board or device: laser-cut, folded by hand, shipped flat. A 3D-printed back on request. From one piece.
- Steel or stainless 1 mm
- Bent along a wave cut, no press brake
- Shipped flat or assembled
- Back in PETG, ABS, or nylon on request
- Cutouts for display, connectors, and buttons
- From 1 piece
The main product here is the front panel. We cut it from 1 mm steel or stainless sheet on the fiber laser with the cutouts for the display, connectors, and buttons in the same pass, and the bend lines are cut as a wave: a sheet like that folds into a box by hand in a minute, with no press brake, and the corner comes out straight. The panel ships flat and fits in a parcel like a plaque. The back, with standoffs for the board and screw holes, is 3D printed on request if you have no printer of your own.
What it costs
Prices for the enclosure in the photos, per piece:
- Design: from 500 CZK, once. We measure the board or take your model, make the flat pattern for the panel and, if needed, the model of the back. A repeat order from a finished design skips this item.
- The front panel in the photos, 135 × 80 mm in 1 mm steel, cut and shipped flat: 490 CZK for one, 250 CZK each from 10 pieces. A different size or stainless is quoted from the drawing.
- Printed back for this panel: about 300 CZK on top.
- We assemble the first prototype. After that the enclosure ships in parts; assembled only by arrangement.
Why a metal face
The front panel wears first: it gets touched, set down on tables, wiped. Printed plastic shows its layers, gloss rubs down to matte patches, light plastic yellows. Steel looks the same a year later as on assembly day, and on brushed stainless small scratches disappear into the grain. A device in a steel enclosure looks like a production unit in photos and in the hand, not like a prototype. Stainless stays uncoated; steel is brushed or sent to a partner for powder coating.
Where plastic stays
Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC do not pass through steel, so the wall next to the antenna stays plastic. On our enclosure for the LilyGO T5 board, the ESP32 module faces the printed back and Wi‑Fi works. We print in PETG, ABS, or nylon, with a build volume up to 390 × 390 × 340 mm. If the device has no radio, the back can be metal as well.
What to send
A photo of the board, its dimensions or a STEP model, and a list of what has to face outward: display, USB, buttons, LEDs. We draw the panel and send it for approval before cutting. We make from one piece; for a batch, the panels are cut from one sheet.
